I often double click drum samples without realizing I'm doing it to hear what they would sound like in quick succession when I'm deciding whether they're what I want or not, and they end up at some random point in the project. I'm fine with drag and drop. Vote:
Agreed - I often accidentally double-click just by playing files in quick succession and don't even realise I've added things to the timeline. It feels much more like that should restart playback. I wonder if there's a reason why the Insert key isn't assigned to do put the media on the timeline? (Also if anyone knows how to keep spacebar doing "main timeline play/stop" let me know - maybe we need to FR passthrough or added transport actions while Media Explorer has focus)
totall agree... just was into the ME tonight and find it strange to have to browse to a file, audition it with the play button and then browse to another file and not hear it until going back to the play button.... db clk to hear it would be fine with me also.... perhaps a modifier plus clk to insert to the project?
No, not done, there is no double click does nothing option. Perhaps what you were talking about has been implemented but not what at least Drew and I were talking about. I was unclear, the point of this FR was so that each click on a media item would start a preview. The point is to be able to play files in quick succession.
Yes, I'm just looking for the ability to be able to click two or more in quick succession and hear the sample reply on each click, just like the FL media browser. So I suppose a "double click does nothing" option would be needed, along with the appropriate single click option. When I started the thread I had forgotten that single clicks did not work like FL, allowing you to reply the sample for each click, so I thought that all that was needed to get to the FL functionality was to get the current doubleclick behavior out of the way.
