How do. I've just booked my S80 into the aforementioned Stratstone in Preston and was told by the service department that they offer a massive 20% discount on parts and labour to Volvo Owners Club members. This has not been mentioned in Driver magazine before and I thought (seeing as us northerners are under represented) I'd let you know. Bob has told me he has passed the most excellent news on to Driver magazine. (If they turn out to be big fat liars, I'll let you know)
I wonder if that's now Stratstone's company policy? I'd almost given up on the Nottingham lot as they closed my local dealership complete with friendly parts manager. The post and packing from mailorder companies now costs less than a trip to the bigger branch across town but 20% off might swing the balance.
Just spoken to parts at Preston and didn't have any joy on any form of discount; even when just asking for a Volvo Owners Club Discount didn't even get a sniff of a discount. Oh well, back to supporting local industry, into Jump Leads in Lytham St Annes where I didn't have to pay for the privelege of waiting for the phone to be picked up!
you should go to readview at accrington,i have used both st annes and accy and in all honesty i dont get mucked about at accy and always straight answer and never had any negatives when asking about problems and needing hints, ask for adam, we both members of vpcuk....
How do. Didn't take the car in to Preston in the end as the problem rectified itself as I was driving out of the driveway on the way to Stratstone. It doesn't sound too good if they're now denying all knowledge of a discount or maybe it's just typical British customer care. Becoming rather disillusioned with the ol' prancing moose of late. In Florida as I write. Perhaps I should have strapped the S80 to the underbelly of the Airbus A330 so I could have the ETM replaced for nowt while I'm here.
