Hello all, I hope there is a simple solution to my problem. Everytime I play a note on my midi keyboard the note sounds as it should. However, when I release the key I hear a click or crackle. I can also hear te same "noise" when te sequence is recorded. I hooked up two different keyboards to test. I also tested with other DAWs and only Reaper gives me this problem. Configuration issue? I have no clue. I hope someone here can help me.

So I suppose ReaSnyth reacts to a note-off in that way. Maybe it can be configured to some other behavior. You also can try a lot other free synth plugins. E.g. ReaRack is very nice one (done completely with Reaper means). It's easily downlodable and installable and documented via ReaPack (which IMHO is a must for any Reaper user). -Michael

Thanks Michael. I will try some different plugins (including the one you suggested) and see what happens. Cheers, Luc

When you turn down the release time in ReaSynth (below the default 8ms) you will (expectedly) get a click when you release the key.

try to avoid too steep attack and relase phases. digital can do very steep phases but the hardware can't. Transient effects (and the reverse of it) will occur and you have to deal with a problem you can avoid mostly.
