I've been dealing with these stubborn warts on my hands for about six months now and I'm getting really frustrated. I tried the over-the-counter treatments from the pharmacy, you know, the ones with salicylic acid, and they just aren't working. My doctor suggested freezing them but I'm honestly a bit nervous about that procedure. Has anyone here had success with getting rid of warts that just won't go away with home treatments? I'm starting to wonder if I need to look into more professional options because this is affecting my confidence at work and social situations.

From my experience treating patients, warts can be incredibly persistent and what works for one person might not work for another. The over-the-counter treatments can take several months to show results and they don't always penetrate deep enough, especially if the warts are thick or in areas with tougher skin. Cryotherapy, which is the freezing method your doctor mentioned, is effective but it usually requires multiple sessions and can be uncomfortable. There are actually several professional treatment options beyond just freezing that you might want to explore. Some dermatology clinics offer different approaches depending on the size, location, and stubbornness of the warts. The key is finding a treatment that addresses the root of the problem rather than just the surface.

I completely understand your frustration because I went through the exact same thing last year. I had warts on my fingers that wouldn't budge no matter what I tried at home, and I was getting self-conscious about shaking hands with people. After doing a lot of research and talking to different specialists, I eventually found a clinic that offered laser wart removal and it honestly changed everything for me. The procedure was much less intimidating than I expected, the recovery was straightforward, and most importantly, those warts are completely gone now. I wish I had known about this option earlier instead of wasting months on treatments that weren't effective enough. If you're looking for something that actually works when other methods have failed, it might be worth having a consultation to see if you're a good candidate.
